So you’ve built your Website and you’ve gone live with it.
Congratulations! But now you need the website indexed by Google so
that the site show’s up on the search engine. It will happen
eventually, Google will find your site and list it on their search
engine, but you want to know how to get your Website indexed by
Google fast.

There are many great and free ways to get traffic to your site.
However, the best and the easiest way to do it is to rank well with
the major search engines. And the biggest of all the search engines
– by far and away – is Google. So you need to make sure your site
is known to Google before you even try to get it to rank well.

The easiest and surest way to get your Website indexed by Google is
to submit it to Google. Google has a place where you can submit
your site. Simply go to Google, click on “Business Solutions”, then
“Webmaster Central”, and finally “Submit your Content to Google”.
From there you will be given the choice to submit your url. Again,
this is very easy and it works but the major drawback is that it
takes a long time.

If you want to get your Website indexed faster there are many
things you can do. The best thing used to be to ask a popular
Website owner to link to your site. This would help get your site
known because the Google spiders would find you through them.
However, Google now penalizes sites for taking part in link
exchanges so you’ll find it next to impossible to get anyone to
link to your site in exchange for you linking to their site.

What you can do is set-up a couple social sites that work in
conjunction with your main site. For example, if you have a site
about dieting then you can build a Squidoo page on exercising and
then link back your site. This will help Google find you and it
will also help you rank better with Google since you’ll be adding a
backlink to your site.

Then you can add both the social site(s) and your actual site to
Digg.com and StumbleUpon.com. These two sites will also help with
Google finding your site.

Finally, you can write articles and submit them to
ezinearticles.com. Be sure to put a link to your site in the
signature box of the article. Once again this will help get your
Website indexed by Google and it will also improve your Google
ranking.

Eventually Google will find your site and index it. However, it can
take a very long time. To speed up the process a little you can
submit your site to Google. To get your Website indexed by Google
even faster you can create social sites, submit to Digg and
StumbleUpon, and write articles.

One of my favorite social networking sites to create a page and add
a link to my site to get indexed fast is Squidoo.  If you’re
looking for a detailed plan that will show you how to use
Squidoo to get your site ranked fast just head over to the

It is the search engines that finally bring your website to the notice of the prospective customers. Hence it is better to know how these search engines actually work and how they present information to the customer initiating a search. By knowing and understanding the search engine concept you will drive more targeted traffic to your website, thus improving your wealth!     Let us discuss the one of the main types of search engines. They are called robots known as crawlers or spiders.  Search Engines use spiders to index websites. When you submit your website pages to a search engine by completing their required submission page, the search engine spider will index your entire site. A ‘spider’ is an automated program that is run by the search engine system. Spider visits a web site, read the content on the actual site, the site’s Meta tags and also follow the links that the site connects. The spider then returns all that information back to a central depository, where the data is indexed. It will visit each link you have on your website and index those sites as well. Some spiders will only index a certain number of pages on your site, so don’t create a site with 500 pages! The spider will periodically return to the sites to check for any information that has changed. The frequency with which this happens is determined by the moderators of the search engine. By updating the information on your website regularly this will ensure that the spider returns and updates the information held at the central depository. A spider is almost like a book where it contains the table of contents, the actual content and the links and references for all the websites it finds during its search, and it may index up to a million pages a day. Example:  Excite, Lycos, AltaVista and Google. When you ask a search engine to locate information, it is actually searching through the index which it has created and not actually searching the Web. Different search engines produce different rankings because not every search engine uses the same algorithm to search through the indices. Remember the search engines do change their algorithms frequently so you must ensure your website is up to date and current. One of the things that a search engine algorithm scans for is the frequency and location of keywords on a web page, but it can also detect artificial keyword stuffing or spamdexing. This is a defiant no no! Google will put your website into the sandbox if it detects that you are stuffing your site full of keywords. Then the algorithms analyze the way that pages link to other pages in the Web. By checking how pages link to each other, an engine can both determine what a page is about, if the keywords of the linked pages are similar to the keywords on the original page.
